Project Jengood
This garden needed a complete transformation to complement the recent renovation and new extension. The aim was to create a welcoming, stylish outdoor space - a place to relax, entertain and feel connected to the garden.
A mix of modern materials, creative tiling and thoughtful planting helped soften the space and bring warmth and personality back into the design. With the garden being north facing and surrounded by hedges and mature trees, the focus was on brightening darker areas and creating a layout that felt more open and inviting.
🌿✨ Full Garden Renovation Following Property Extension
Project Duration: 3 weeks
Completed: April 2026
Project Overview 🌱
This garden needed a complete transformation to tie in with the recent renovation works and new extension.
The vision was to create a welcoming, stylish outdoor space where the homeowners could relax, entertain and enjoy the garden throughout the seasons. A mix of modern materials, creative tiling and thoughtful planting helped soften the space and bring warmth and personality back into the garden.
With the garden being north-facing and surrounded by hedges and mature trees, the design focused on lifting the space, brightening darker areas and creating a layout that felt more open and inviting. Layered planting, feature steps and contrasting textures played a big part in achieving this.
Key Challenges ⚠️
Access to the property was extremely restricted, with all materials and waste transported through a long, steep and uneven alleyway. Due to this, existing surfaces such as the concrete patio and Indian stone areas were carefully renovated rather than removed, ensuring the project remained efficient without compromising on quality.
Project Works & Specification 🛠️
· A new composite decking area in Anthracite Grey was installed on a floating floor above the existing concrete patio, creating a practical and attractive outdoor living zone with built‑in drainage.
· Timber sleeper walls were added to define levels and support new feature steps, while raised sleeper beds introduced height and structure for planting. The existing Indian stone patio was fully cleaned, renovated and repointed, then sealed to brighten the shaded area and restore its natural beauty.
· A feature tiled patio replaced the old concrete driveway section, using client‑sourced patterned tiles to create a standout focal point. New porcelain steps were installed to link the decking, patio and lawn areas, bringing the whole garden together with a cohesive finish.
· Fresh screened topsoil was added to improve drainage and root health, followed by stadium‑grade turf for a lush, durable lawn. Herbaceous planting was chosen for colour, texture and shade tolerance, helping to soften the hard landscaping and bring gentle movement and seasonal interest.
